Energy North Group Acquires Eight Tradewinds Properties in Maine

Lawrence, MA – September 2, 2020 – Energy North Group (ENG) is proud to announce that it is strengthening its presence in Maine with the addition of eight convenience stores and gas stations plus one car wash from Tradewinds.

Tradewinds was founded by Chuck Lawrence. He built the Tradewinds brand to 15 properties, which included: convenience stores, car washes and supermarkets. Tradewinds prides themselves on being a pillar of the communities they serve in Maine. “ENG has a lot of the same visions of being a good community citizen,” said Lawrence. “They will continue to ensure we have healthy communities.”

Based in Lawrence, ENG operates 50 gas stations, convenience stores, car washes and food service locations. “We are excited to welcome Tradewinds employees and customers from eight properties into the ENG family,” said Jeff Black, Owner & COO, ENG. “We’re looking forward to expanding our gas station, convenience store and car wash footprint within Maine.”

As one of the largest wholesale distributors of fuel in the New England and Upstate New York areas, ENG offers all of the major brands, including: Exxon, Mobil, Sunoco, Gulf and Citgo while continuing to grow its Haffner’s proprietary brand. The Haffner’s brand distributes oil and propane while providing burner service to nearly 50,000 customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Gasoline, diesel, oil and propane are transported through its sister company, ABS Fuel Systems. Over the past decade, ENG has grown rapidly because of its many successful acquisitions.
